A "bite" About Me

No matter what method you use to figure out how you will perfect this beautiful, delightful, decadent "cookie". Falling in love with the process is what took my enjoyment for French Macarons to the next level!
As a Chef, I will try almost anything at least once and that one time try of macarons, became a secret obsession. It was my guilty pleasure and every chance I would come across a cookie shop or store that offered them, I would indulge. 

Cooking is easy for me, as I have been in a kitchen since the age of eight, however baking was more complex for me so I always shied away from it. Growing up, baking was something I watched my mom and grandma do effortlessly. After culinary school and having to take coursework in baking, some of that apprehensiveness was relieved as I begin to understand the science of baking; nonetheless after graduating, naturally I was back to savory full speed ahead.
  
After countless visits to places that sold macarons, having different "cookie" experiences, not always being able to get the flavor that I wanted or wanting more than 12 cookies at a time (LOL), I finally took this obsession head on and tried baking them myself!
This cookie is NOT for the faint at heart, because it can be quite complicated, however it is one that makes you work for its respect. Never wavering and always up for a challenge, me and this cookie shared quite a few downs before we came Up!  And as a result, I turned my guilty pleasure into a delicious baking journey!

I'm quite the multi-tasker, personally and professionally; splitting my time between Nursing (LPN-Geriatrics) and Personal Chef/Owner (Elite Dinner Parties LLC) ...in my city, I've become known to many as "The Cooking Nurse 901". 
​I'm a mother to two beautiful adult daughters, and new "Grandmother" to my sweetest granddaughter Ana. With this new love for baking macarons, I look forward to a future "tea party" with my granddaughter to share some precious and delicious time with her!
Connecting with family and friends over good food and great conversations has and will always be a staple for my existence because it's been a therapeutic outlet that has given me the simplest joy that money can't buy.
So anytime I can offer some of the delicious eats and treats from "Krissie's Kitchen" for others to enjoy, that’s exactly what I do.
